Vital planting 1,000 mangrove trees to celebrate International Mangrove Conservation Day

Vital Drinking Water had brought about 30 employees together with Trapaing Sangke community and with the support of Kampot Provincial Department of Environment, organized an event to plant 1,000 mangrove on July 23, 2020.

The event is designed to promote mangroves planting and to celebrate International Mangrove Conservation Day, which annually takes place on July 26, 2020.

Chunhieng Thavaseth, Head of Marketing of Vital Drinking Water, said that mangrove forest is important for humanity. Mangrove is a barrier against natural disaster, habitat for biodiversity and as a source of tourist attraction.

Prum Viseth, Deputy Director of Kampot Provincial Department of Environment confirmed that today mangroves planting is an important contribution from private sector to conserve mangrove forests and help the environment. He believed that this activity will encourage more participation from private companies for mangroves conservation.

Chunhieng Thavaseth also continued, “Today mangroves planting shows the thanksgiving of humanity to the environment and create a good memory to the environment.”

In additional, Head of Marketing of Vital Drinking Water encourage all people to understand the benefits of mangrove trees and continue planting for the sake of environment.

He also mentioned that Vital Drinking Water has always participated in many social and charitable activities, such as tree planting, giving donation, sponsoring events and organizing many other events for society.
